Goochland Released Mugshot Records
A booking photograph is created during an arrest or custody process. Virginia Code § 19.2-392 authorizes police to take and preserve arrest photographs for specified reportable charges. That creation authority is not a command to post every image on the web. The custodian, Virginia public-record rules, sealing, privacy limits, and agency policy determine whether an image is released.
Pamunkey Regional Jail is the adult custody source for Goochland detainees even though the jail is in Hanover. Its public cards display booking photographs while a person is on the current list. When the card disappears, the official site provides no found photo archive. Goochland County Sheriff's Office may hold its own arrest photograph or public-information image, while Pamunkey remains the custodian of the jail booking and release record.
A photo survives as a record more often than it survives as a current web card. The image remains tied to one booking episode. Match the inmate ID, booking date, arresting agency, and case number before treating it as the correct person.
Where Goochland Released Mugshots Appear
Use official channels first. Each source has a different scope. A Pamunkey-only detainee may never have a VADOC photograph, and a VCCW prisoner should not be searched through the Pamunkey roster merely because the prison sits in Goochland County.
| Channel | Has a photo? | How to access |
|---|---|---|
| Pamunkey current roster | Yes, on observed current-custody cards | Search by name and confirm the Goochland arresting agency |
| Pamunkey released archive | No official public archive found | Request the image from Records for the exact booking |
| Goochland Sheriff | May hold an arrest photograph or selected public post | Use GCSO FOIA channels and identify the event |
| VADOC locator or file | May include an offender image | Use only for a matched state-custody record |
| Agency apps or social feeds | Feature not verified as a release-photo archive | Do not assume the advertised apps preserve released cards |
| News or third-party repost | Sometimes | Treat only as a lead, then verify through government records |
VINELink is built for a specific-person custody status and notification workflow. It should not be described as a public photo gallery. A VINE release event can help verify the end of a Pamunkey episode, but the photo request still goes to the agency record custodian.
Pamunkey's Goochland Booking Photos
The Pamunkey Who's In Jail page visibly presents a booking photo with the full name, inmate ID, age, race, sex, arresting agency, booking date and time, charge text, and related court information when populated. Its heading is current only. There is no release label, 24-hour selector, 72-hour selector, release date, release reason, or published archive period.
The captured interface shows why a card can support current custody and identity matching, but not why or when the person later left.
The wider Goochland same-day release process explains the official fallback when no recent-release feed exists.
Request a Goochland Booking Photo
Ask for one identified booking photograph, not an entire investigative file. Pamunkey Records can be reached through the jail's main number at 804-365-6400, extension 3033, or at 7240 Courtland Farm Road, Hanover, Virginia 23069. No fixed public fee or dedicated photo-request form was found on the pages reviewed. Ask for electronic delivery, a cost estimate, and releasable material with lawful redaction.
- Identify the person by full name and, when lawfully known, date of birth. Add the Pamunkey inmate ID if available.
- Give the approximate booking date, Goochland arresting agency, and court case number so the custodian can isolate the episode.
- Request the booking photograph tied to that booking. If release proof is also needed, separately request the booking/release summary.
- Ask for a cost estimate before work exceeds a chosen limit and request electronic delivery where available.
- Accept lawful redaction or a cited withholding. Ask which retention schedule applies if the record no longer exists.
The Goochland County Sheriff's FOIA page offers mail, in-person, email, and phone request channels for an arrest record or image held by GCSO. The public-information window is Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. GCSO states that it provides one of the lawful responses within five business days. Actual search, access, duplication, and supply costs may apply, with a possible deposit when the estimate exceeds $200.
The official page identifies the Sheriff request routes. Pamunkey and GCSO may hold different images or metadata, so request from the office that created the desired record.
Note: Ask for a cost estimate because neither Pamunkey's reviewed pages nor Virginia law supplies one universal booking-photo price.
Goochland Jail Apps Need Verification
Pamunkey Regional Jail and Goochland County Sheriff each advertise an official mobile app. They are separate agencies. The reviewed official pages do not establish that either app publishes a rolling recent-release list or preserves photos after release. “Official app available” is therefore accurate. “Released-mugshot archive” is not supported.
An app feature can change faster than a records policy. If an app currently shows a booking photo, record the access date and match it to the agency, person, and booking. Do not assume that the image will remain after the custody card is removed. A social post from GCSO can document what the agency said at publication, but it does not update itself when the court disposes of the case.
The clean source order is the live government card, a targeted government request, the court disposition, and then any copied image as context. This keeps identity, custody, and case outcome from being collapsed into one photograph.
VADOC Goochland Offender Photos
VCCW is a state prison in Goochland County. Its population is statewide. A woman released from VCCW should be searched through the VADOC Inmate and Supervisee Locator, not the Pamunkey list. VADOC results or releasable state files may include an offender image. Match the seven-digit DOC ID, state location, and custody or supervision status.
A local Pamunkey detainee who never received a VADOC sentence may have no state offender photo at all. Conversely, a VCCW image can relate to a much older state-prison episode. VADOC release papers and the locator establish state custody context; the photo alone does not show discharge, parole, or transfer.
For a state-file request, identify the DOC ID, facility, date range, and exact photograph sought. Medical, victim, security, presentence, and other protected information should be excluded. A narrow request gives the custodian a clear record to assess.
Goochland Mugshot Reposts Need Context
News reports and third-party databases sometimes retain a photo after an official roster removes it. They are leads, not custody-status sources. A press release records an accusation or agency action at one point in time. It may omit a later dismissal, acquittal, amended charge, sentence, sealing order, or release. Match any copied image to the official booking, then read the Goochland court disposition.
No commercial mugshot publisher, data broker, or removal vendor is linked here. Paying a private service cannot alter Pamunkey, GCSO, VADOC, or court records. Corrections should begin with the source custodian. If a publisher copied the image, provide that publisher the corrected official record or lawful sealing order under its own process.
A photograph is not a finding of guilt. Nor is it proof of current identity without supporting fields. Names, appearances, and captions can be mismatched. Keep the booking date and agency with the image whenever it is used to confirm the right episode.
Goochland Court Records Add Context
A booking image should be paired with the case outcome. Virginia's statewide adult criminal search can locate the court and case number, while Goochland General District and Circuit Court clerks provide the signed record. General District matters may show bond, misdemeanor, or preliminary events. Circuit Court records can supply a felony disposition or sentencing order.
Words in a court record require care. Dismissed or nolle prosequi can end one charge without clearing another hold. Guilty does not prove that jail custody continued, because the sentence may include time served, suspended time, or probation. Bond granted does not prove that bond was posted. The jail's release entry records the physical exit, while the court order explains its legal basis.
If the online case no longer appears, do not rebuild it from an old copied photo. Ask the clerk whether access is restricted or whether sealing rules apply. This respects the current court record and avoids attaching stale allegations to an image.
Correct or Remove Goochland Mugshots
Virginia sealing and expungement rules affect visibility, but eligibility and implementation have changed during the 2020s. No categorical promise should be made for one case. Obtain current guidance and the signed court order. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, victim-identifying, and court-protected material must not be reconstructed from old mirrors.
Virginia Code § 8.01-40.3 creates civil liability when a person publishes or maintains charge or arrest criminal-history information while soliciting, requesting, or accepting value to remove it, subject to statutory exceptions. The stated remedy is actual damages or $500, whichever is greater, plus reasonable attorney fees and costs. It is an anti-pay-to-remove remedy, not a blanket ban on government release or journalism.
Send factual corrections to the office responsible for the field: Pamunkey for its booking card, GCSO for a Sheriff image or post, VADOC for a state offender record, and the court for disposition or sealing. A copied publisher controls its own copy, but it cannot change the source record.
Note: Preserve the case number and signed order because a missing web page alone does not explain why an image was removed.
