Goochland VINELink Release Coverage
Virginia Jail VINE covers local and regional jail custody, including Pamunkey Regional Jail. Pamunkey is the key facility for Goochland adult bookings even though the jail is in Hanover. The jail’s own Virginia VINE information page points users to internet and telephone custody search and notification services. The toll-free VINE number is 800-467-4943, and TTY service is available at 866-847-1298.
This coverage is custody-specific. A short local sentence may remain in Jail VINE from booking through release. A longer state-responsible case may move to the Virginia Department of Corrections, which uses a separate notification system. A federal case requires BOP or U.S. Marshals sources, not VINELink. The service also does not turn a Goochland court order into proof that the jail carried it out. VINE reflects the status event supplied by the participating jail.
The Pamunkey VINE page was captured because it gives Goochland users a facility-endorsed route to Virginia’s service.
The image links the regional jail to Virginia VINE and its phone access. It does not merge local-jail alerts with VADOC’s state-prison program.
Search Goochland Inmates on VINELink
Search one person at a time. Use the full legal name and an identifying number when available. A surname alone can return several people from different facilities, so compare the facility, age or other displayed identifiers, and booking context before opening a record. For a Goochland arrest, look for Pamunkey Regional Jail and preserve the inmate ID from the current jail card if one exists. Do not substitute a seven-digit VADOC DOC ID unless the person has entered the state system.
- Open VINELink and choose Virginia.
- Select the custody or offender search for local and regional jails.
- Enter the person’s full name or supported identifying number. Try exact and supported partial options if needed.
- Compare every match with Pamunkey Regional Jail, age or identifiers, and known booking facts.
- Open the matched record and read the custody status with its status date and time.
- Save the event or registration confirmation so a changing screen does not erase the reference point.
The VINELink person-search screen shows the starting interface used for a Virginia local-jail query.
The screen is a search gateway, not a conclusion. A valid Goochland match still requires the correct person, the Pamunkey facility context, and a readable custody-status event.
Goochland VINELink Release Fields
The exact labels can change with the service and the participating feed. Read the result as displayed. The most important fields establish identity, the reporting facility, the status, and when the status event was recorded. If a field is absent, do not infer it from a booking article, court date, or a different person’s record.
| Field | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Name or offender identity | Use with age or other identifiers. Never choose solely by surname. |
| Facility | Pamunkey Regional Jail links the event to the local Goochland custody path. |
| Custody status | “In custody” conflicts with a community-release claim at the feed time. “Released” means the jail reported that episode ended. |
| Status date and time | Marks the reported event and should be saved with the access time. |
| Event type | May distinguish release, transfer, escape or return, recapture, death, or another supported change. |
| Notification control | Starts registration from the matched person’s record when the option is available. |
A released status is stronger than mere absence from Pamunkey’s current roster. It remains an end-of-episode statement from the feeding jail. If transfer language appears, identify the receiving authority before describing where the person went.
Confirm Goochland VINELink Release Status
“In custody” means Pamunkey still reports the person held at the time of that event. “Released” establishes that Pamunkey reported the matched episode ended. It does not, by itself, prove community release. The jail may have transferred the person to VADOC, ICE, the U.S. Marshals Service, another jail, or a hospital. Read all transfer or facility text and follow the receiving system when named.
For a disputed result, call Pamunkey Booking/Release at 804-365-6400, extension 3043. Ask about the identified booking, status time, release type, and any receiving agency. If staff cannot give the full entry by phone, request the releasable booking-and-release summary from Records at extension 3033. A Goochland court order can explain legal authority but may not supply the physical exit time. The jail event supplies that operational fact.
Register Goochland VINELink Release Alerts
Registration begins from the correct matched record. Virginia materials describe phone, text, email, or TTY methods as available options, though the current interface controls which choices appear. Save the registration confirmation. The service may require a separate registration for each person or custody episode, and notification does not automatically attach to a new agency after transfer.
- Open the verified Pamunkey record and choose “Register for notifications” or the current equivalent.
- Select an offered phone, text, email, or TTY method and enter the destination carefully.
- Create the requested PIN for automated phone alerts.
- Complete any text or email verification step shown by the service.
- Save the confirmation and note which person, facility, and episode it covers.
- When an automated phone alert arrives, enter the PIN to confirm receipt and stop repeat calls.
Notification delivery can lag the underlying jail action. Use the alert as a prompt to check the matched status and, when the destination is unclear, contact Pamunkey. Do not rely on an uncaptured screen after the record changes.
Pamunkey Endorses Goochland VINE Alerts
Pamunkey’s own VINE explainer gives Goochland users a direct local layer that many jail searches lack. The facility identifies Virginia VINE, provides the toll-free route, and describes internet and phone search plus phone and email notifications. That endorsement matters because Goochland does not operate its own adult jail roster. A person arrested in Goochland should be matched to Pamunkey in the local and regional jail service.
The same local strength creates a transition risk. Virginia’s official Jail VINE and VADOC notification FAQ warns that local-jail registration and the state program are separate. A VINE release alert can occur when the custody episode ends through transfer to VADOC. The alert is real, but its meaning is release from Pamunkey, not necessarily release to the community. Follow the transfer and register again through the correct state channel when eligible.
Goochland Transfers Need NAAVI Registration
VADOC uses NAAVI for state-prison victim notifications. Eligible registered victims must enroll through that state program. A Jail VINE registration does not carry over when a Goochland detainee is sentenced and transferred from Pamunkey to state custody. NAAVI can cover state events such as advance release, actual release, transfer, work release, escape or recapture, parole interview, and parole decision.
Use the VADOC Victim Services notification page or call 800-560-4292 for the state route. Keep the Pamunkey inmate ID and VADOC DOC ID distinct. The first tracks a local jail episode. The second identifies the person in the state corrections system.
The captured page shows the separate state registration path. It reinforces that an alert subscription must follow the custody authority rather than automatically follow the person.
Troubleshoot Goochland VINELink Release Alerts
An alert may fail to settle the question even when registration worked. The message might name a status change without explaining the destination. A phone call can repeat until the correct PIN is entered. Email or text delivery may be delayed by the destination service, and a registration made against the wrong match will follow the wrong record. Return to the saved confirmation first. Check the person, facility, custody episode, contact method, and event time. Then open the matched record again and compare its current status with the notice received.
If the notification says release but other facts suggest continued custody, ask Pamunkey Booking/Release whether another authority picked up the person. A state transfer calls for a VADOC locator check and, for an eligible victim, separate NAAVI registration. If the message never arrives, confirm that the selected channel was verified and that the registration still covers the current episode. Registering once does not promise notices after a new booking or transfer. The safest record is the saved event plus direct confirmation from the agency that reported it.
A result can also lag a fast sequence of events. For example, Pamunkey may end its episode and a receiving authority may start another one before all public systems refresh. Record each access time. Keep the source names with the results, and report a conflict rather than blending them into one uncertain status.
Goochland VINELink Release Limits
VINELink is not a complete history of every person who has ever been held. Data can be delayed, corrected, or limited by the participating agency. A local result does not cover federal prison custody. It also does not replace VADOC’s locator or NAAVI after a state transfer. Juvenile case information is not part of the adult public lookup path, and confidential juvenile events should not be inferred from an adult search.
If VINELink finds no match, check spelling, supported partial-name options, the known ID, and the facility. Then verify whether the person is still on Pamunkey’s current list. Call Booking/Release for a recent local episode and request the release entry if needed. When the record names VADOC, search the state locator. When it names a federal or immigration custodian, use that authority’s locator or records process.
- Jail VINE
- Local and regional jail custody search and alerts, including Pamunkey.
- NAAVI
- VADOC’s separate state-custody notification program for eligible registered victims.
- Release event
- The feeding agency’s report that its custody episode ended, sometimes because another agency took custody.
- Discharge
- The end of a sentence or supervision term under the controlling authority, not merely a jail transfer.
For the full multi-system path after a local event, use the Goochland County released inmate lookup. It separates Pamunkey releases, VADOC custody and supervision, Goochland court records, and federal or immigration transfers.
