Work Center Release Outcomes
State Farm Work Center is a VADOC work center. Its name does not make it a county work-release office or a part of Pamunkey Regional Jail. A person can leave the work center for another VADOC location without leaving state custody. That distinction is central because a changed location and a completed prison release often look alike to someone checking only one facility name.
Possible outcomes include a transfer, discharge at the end of the term, parole for a legally eligible prisoner, and release into post-release supervision. Work-center participation is also an event covered by state victim-notification material. Read the exact VADOC status and event type. Never turn “not at State Farm Work Center” into “released.”

Confirm Work Center Release
The VADOC Inmate and Supervisee Locator is the correct public search. Enter a seven-digit DOC ID for the strongest match. With a name, provide the first three letters of the first name and the whole last name, then apply location, race, gender, and age filters as needed.
- Search the locator and compare all available identifiers.
- Check whether State Farm Work Center remains the listed location.
- If the location changed, determine whether the event was a VADOC transfer.
- Distinguish an inmate record from a community supervisee record.
- Read the release-date field as a current public calculation until release occurs.
- Confirm the event through signed VADOC papers or a focused records response.
VADOC says the locator updates daily but can be inaccurate or out of date. Record the access date. A missing result may require historical records and does not prove that the person never entered state custody.
Work Center Date Evidence
A displayed release date can change while someone remains incarcerated. VADOC time computation accounts for the sentence, jail credit, earned-credit category and level, disciplinary events, amended orders, consecutive or concurrent terms, detainers, and other operational facts. The work-center setting does not create a separate public release formula.
At actual release, VADOC provides a notification-of-release letter and, as applicable, an Order of Release, Conditions of Probation, or Conditions of Parole. The official facility release page says release occurs by 11:59 p.m. on the date, weather permitting. A date on the morning of release is not proof of physical departure.

Give the full name, seven-digit DOC ID, State Farm Work Center, and narrow date range. Request the releasable location history, custody dates, transfer event, release or discharge date and type, and release documents. Ask that medical, security, victim, presentence, and other protected content be excluded.

Work Center and Goochland
State Farm Work Center is near Goochland and is easy to confuse with local custody. Official VADOC listings treat State Farm Correctional Center and State Farm Work Center as separate state facilities. Neither is the Goochland jail. Pamunkey Regional Jail, located in Hanover, officially houses Goochland adult detainees.
The county’s facility geography reverses ordinary assumptions. A building near Goochland may serve a statewide prison population, while the regional jail that handles Goochland bookings sits elsewhere. Facility type, operator, and custody ID are more useful than proximity.
Use the Goochland County release route for an arrest-to-jail episode. If Pamunkey records a VADOC pickup, switch to the DOC locator. Once the person reaches the work center, the VADOC DOC ID and state records control later release proof.
Work Center Notification Events
VADOC’s NAAVI program is the state-prison notification layer for eligible registered victims. Its events can include work release, transfer, advanced release, actual release, escape or recapture, parole interview, and parole decision. That range makes careful reading vital. An alert about work-center movement is not the same as a final discharge.
Registration through Virginia Jail VINE at Pamunkey does not automatically continue into VADOC. Use the NAAVI registration information or contact Victim Services at 804-674-3243 or 800-560-4292. After any alert, compare the facility and event with the locator and release documents.

Work Center Supervision Status
After secure custody ends, a matched VADOC record may identify the person as a supervisee. That status can support release from the work center when dates and identifiers line up, but it also means legal conditions continue. The signed conditions are the best personal source for reporting duties and the assigned office.
Goochland is in VADOC Probation and Parole District 9, named Charlottesville. Use the current office directory because address and phone listings can change. The work center is not a probation and parole reporting office. Staff may limit the details disclosed to third parties for safety, privacy, or case management.
A rumor about missed reporting does not prove an absconder status or warrant. Confirm a warrant with the court or law enforcement, and confirm completion of supervision with a discharge record.
Work Center Search Fields
The official VADOC locator screen displays the DOC-ID route, name fields, optional filters, daily-update statement, and accuracy warning.
The image shows why a search must be matched carefully. It cannot by itself establish that a departure from the work center was a community release.
Work Center Release Calculation
The State Farm Work Center name does not change how VADOC computes a prison term. State earned-sentence-credit law can place a sentence in ESC-1 or ESC-2. Specified ESC-1 offenses are capped at 4.5 credits per 30 days. Other eligible ESC-2 terms may earn at tiered rates up to 15 days per 30 days, subject to exclusions, conduct, participation, and statutory dates. No single percentage describes all cases.
VADOC also considers pre-reception jail credit, sentence type, total active time, class levels, disciplinary events, and other changes. Consecutive or concurrent sentences, amended orders, detainers, escapes, and lost credits can affect the operational date. Work placement can be relevant to custody management without itself fixing the release date.
Read the public date as a calculation while the person remains incarcerated. Actual release requires the later facility event and documents. A person with a computation concern can write the Court & Legal Section. Friends and family should not subtract a guessed credit rate from the sentence.
Work Center Release Evidence
Build the record in sequence. The court order establishes the sentence. The VADOC locator identifies current custody or supervision. The location history shows whether leaving the work center was an internal move. The release letter and signed conditions show whether a community transition occurred and what legal status followed.
A transfer entry should name the next VADOC location or receiving authority. If the locator shows a supervisee, compare the status date with release papers. If neither public source resolves an older event, request the narrow custody and release fields. Do not rely on the current Pamunkey roster, which serves a different local-jail population.
Virginia’s notification split supplies another check. An eligible registered victim may receive a NAAVI transfer or release event. Read the event label and confirm it against VADOC, since the alert can mark movement into the work center, movement out of it, or actual release.
Work Center Location History
A work-center absence can also result from an operational move that a saved screen cannot explain. Ask for the location history covering the date in question. When the history names another VADOC institution, continue with the same DOC ID. When it names an outside authority, use that custodian’s records. Only a completed VADOC release event supports release from state prison, and a later discharge record is needed to show supervision ended.
